AMC Engineering Ltd has the only fibre/CO2 laser cutter in Central Hawke's Bay, at our Waipukurau branch.
We can draw up your part in CAD, then cut it in metal or plywood. We can etch onto all of these materials too, for names, logos and markings.

What kind of work do you take on?
Stainless steel, aluminium and sheet steel fabrication, CAD design and laser cutting (from our Waipukurau branch), structural engineering, transport engineering, certified welding and general engineering repairs. If you're not sure whether it's our kind of job, call and describe it.
What can your laser cutter cut?
We have the only fibre/CO2 laser cutter in Central Hawke's Bay, at our Waipukurau branch. It cuts aluminium up to 8mm, stainless steel up to 10mm, mild steel up to 20mm and plywood up to 10mm, and we can etch onto all of these materials too.
Do you do WOFs and mechanical work?
Yes. AMC Engineering Ltd has a mechanic and a warrant of fitness service, alongside the engineering side. Email workshop@amc.co.nz or call Nick on 021 479 561 to book your vehicle in.
How do I get a quote?
Call or email us with what you need: photos, a sketch or drawing, rough measurements, the material if you know it, and when you need it by. We'll come back to you with a price.
Can I just drop into the shop?
Yes. The trade shop at 46 Takapau Road stocks bolts and fasteners, paint, oils, sealants, welding consumables and engineering supplies. Our Google listing shows Monday to Friday, 6am to 4.30pm. If you're after something specific, call ahead to check it's in stock.
My job needs certified welding. Can you do it?
Certified welding is one of our services. Tell us the standard or spec your job needs when you call, so we can confirm we can sign it off before we start.
Do you come out on site?
Ask us when you call. Tell us where the job is and what's involved, and we'll let you know whether it's a workshop job or something we can sort on site.
